Different people have different growth backgrounds and different standpoints. They cannot have consistent views on the world, life and things. At this time, misconception easily occurs. Among them, the misconception between parents and children are the most common and most difficult to solve.
Recently, I had the honor to participate in the translation of a children's work called The Misconception. This is the first volume in the Megan series, written by Owen Johns, a well-known Amazon author. For more information about the author, I will not go into details here. This story tells the story of a girl called Megan with psychic power who was punished by her mother because of such a power. Megan is a kind and beautiful girl. She loves her parents. She is willing to help her mother share the housework. Megan's parents loved her too. Due to genetic reasons, Megan has psychic power and can see things that ordinary people cannot. Megan's mother was horrified by this ability. She is afraid that her daughter is different and that her daughter will use this supernatural power to do something bad.
Fortunately, there is a guide called Wacinhinsha to guide Megan, and a ghost tiger Grrr to accompany Megan. Wacinhinsha is a Native American whose main mission is to help the growth of people with psychic power like Megan. The ghost tiger Grrr was a Siberian tiger in life.
Megan is kind-hearted in nature, although she is often punished by her mother because of her psychic power. For example, her mother will lock Megan in a dark coal cellar. But she still loves her mother very much and hopes to establish a good and friendly parent-child relationship with her mother.
From the mother's point of view, she felt that she had done nothing wrong. Children of all ages should have the characteristics of that age group, not some weird things. It is completely wrong for my daughter to be in this situation. So, she tried to right that wrong. In fact, she didn't know what to do with Megan, so she took the crudest method, locking Megan in a dark coal cellar, or cursing her daughter. From the heart, Megan is her own flesh and blood, and she definitely loves her child, but she just can't accept this unique thing about Megan.
From Meghan's perspective, she did nothing wrong. First of all, she is very lucky to have this kind of supernatural power that many others do not have. Secondly, if she uses this ability to do good things, she can help more people, which is another great thing. Although Megan sometimes doesn't understand why her mother treats her like this, from the bottom of her heart, she doesn't want to have a tense relationship with her mother. She longs for her mother's love.
There was a misconception between the mother and the daughter. This misconception affects both of them, adding a lot of twists and turns to their supposedly peaceful and beautiful life. Fortunately, there is still love between them, and there is still a chance to save everything.
As a mother, I was deeply touched after reading this story. Sometimes I treat my son rudely because of some of his behaviors and thoughts that I don’t understand. I regret it now when I think about it. I should try to look at the problem from his perspective, and maybe there won't be so many misunderstandings and misconceptions. In short, I hope that there will be no misconceptions between mothers and daughters, and mothers and sons all over the world. If there is a misconception, it should be dealt with in time, the communication should be established between each other in a timely manner, and the misconception should be treated in its budding stage, so as to establish a harmonious, friendly and loving parent-child relationship, which will be more conducive to the future growth of the child.
